Bio

SAFD Fight Master Dale Girard is an award-winning Fight Director, SDC Choreographer, and author of the definitive stage combat textbook Actors On Guard. Bridging the worlds of live theatre and screen action, he is a veteran SAG-AFTRA stunt coordinator and performer, a founding member of the North Carolina Stuntmen’s Association, and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo/Hapkido. Dale’s extensive choreography credits include celebrated productions for the Metropolitan Opera, Folger Theatre, Signature Theatre, New York City Opera, Paper Mill Playhouse, Hartford Stage, Vancouver Opera, PlayMakers Repertory Company, Studio Arena Theatre, and Actors Theatre of Louisville. As a master teacher dedicated to the holistic training of the student-practitioner, his distinguished academic tenure spans over three decades of high-level industry practice at elite academic instructions including the Yale School of Drama and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
